We’ve been extremely busy at Shaw Primary School recently!
In light of our recent 'Good' Ofsted report, we were delighted to welcome Michelle Donelan MP into our school last week. She gave a fantastic assembly to our Year 6 children about her experience being a member of Parliament. The children engaged by asking many thorough questions and listened attentively to her answers for the whole hour.
To continue on the positive news, we have an England Lacrosse coach teaching extracurricular activities at our school! Sport activities have rapidly increased in popularity in the last few months because of this. Children are now accessing a number of sports such as netball, football, and Lacrosse.
We've also begun 'Car Club’. Supervised pupils are volunteering to check staff members' cars under bonnets and producing 'Shaw MOT' certificates. Pupils are checking oil, windscreen washers, and tyres before washing the cars in their overalls during their lunch break!
Principal Thomas Brewer said:
“Our staff, children, and parents are so proud of all we have achieved here. Our school has a wonderful learning atmosphere that creates a positive buzz everyday.
As you can see, there’s a lot going on at Shaw! Come and see us or get in contact with our school office if you'd like to volunteer or join our team.”
